Kentuckiana Integrative Medicine, also trading as the Kentuckiana Ketamine Institute, is a clinic in Jeffersonville, United States, open seven days a week. Treatment is given by Dr Cruz, a physician with about 30 years in clinical practice who used ketamine extensively in emergency medicine and anaesthesia, and who says he has lived with severe depression himself. The wider team includes a board-certified psychiatrist, a nurse practitioner, a naturopathic doctor and two counsellors, one of them an addiction specialist.

What they offer

The clinic says it offers ketamine treatment in connection with mental health difficulties, addiction and complex regional pain syndrome. Addiction services include a rapid conscious sedation detox using intravenous naloxone with ketamine and propofol, and naltrexone pellets placed under the skin. Patients also receive supporting material: breathwork, meditations, a reading list and supplements. The clinic’s IV department offers other infusion therapies and stem cell treatments.

How it works

Ketamine is administered by the physician rather than by a nurse practitioner or nurse anaesthetist, with one-to-one monitoring and resuscitation equipment to hand. Ketamine dosing is disclosed in full; for the clinic’s own supplement blends, ingredients are disclosed but not necessarily exact doses.
