The short version
We ask for an email address when you sign up for the letter, and for your listing details when you submit one. Visits are counted by our host without cookies, in a way that cannot tell who you are. Google Analytics counts as well, but only if you say yes when asked, and nothing from Google loads before that. We do not sell anything to anyone.
If you sign up for the letter
We collect your email address and nothing else. It goes to Brevo, the service that sends the letter for us, which asks you to confirm the address before anything is sent. Every email carries a link to stop it, and using that link removes you.
If you submit a listing
We collect what the form asks for: a name, what kind of listing it is, a short description, a place, a website, the practices it involves, event dates where they apply, and an email address to reach you about the review.
The listing itself is meant to be published. Your email address is not: it is used to reach you about your submission and never appears on the site. To review a submission we put it into our own private code repository on GitHub and post a summary to our internal Slack, both of which only we can see. If you say yes to the letter as well, your address also goes to Brevo, on the same confirm-first terms.
How visits are counted
Our host, Vercel, counts page views and measures how quickly pages load. It sets no cookie and keeps nothing in your browser. A visit is recognised for the length of a day from a hash of the request that is then discarded, and nobody can trace that back to a person. It is the modern form of the server log every host keeps, and it is what tells us which pages people actually read.
Google Analytics runs only if you say yes to the small question at the bottom of the page. It sets cookies and sends what it sees to Google, which is why we ask first and why nothing from Google is loaded until you answer. Say no and it never loads. Your answer is kept in your browser so you are not asked again.
What we never do
- No cookie without asking. Our own counting sets none; Google Analytics sets some, and only after you say yes.
- No advertising, and no selling or renting of anyone's details.
- No email address published on the site, ever.
Asking us about your data
Write to info@fto.world and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You can ask us to remove a published listing at any time and we will take it down.

The site is hosted by Vercel, which keeps ordinary server logs of requests, as any web host does.
