MahaDevi Ayahuasca Retreats - Ayahuasca Retreat in Colombia - 7 Nights
About
MahaDevi Ayahuasca Retreats runs week-long ayahuasca retreats near Mocoa, in Colombia’s Putumayo department, led by an Indigenous Camsá healer. Guests can drink traditionally cooked yagé or crudo, a raw preparation made without fire that the retreat suggests for newcomers and sensitive guests.
Approach
Taita Miguel Mavisoy, a Camsá healer whose lineage the retreat traces through twelve generations, leads the ceremonies. He grows and harvests the medicine on his own land and prepares it fresh for each retreat, without paste or stored concentrates. Founder Yasha Shah, who completed integration training with ICEERS and holds Red Cross first aid and CPR certification, oversees screening and safety, and Ania Halama guides preparation and integration. The seven nights include three yagé ceremonies, breathwork with sananga, a hapeh ceremony, sound healing, a cacao ceremony and a hike to the Fin del Mundo waterfall. The Medicine Maker retreat adds crudo-making with Taita Miguel.
Who it is for
The retreat says many guests are working through depression, anxiety, grief or burnout. It turns away anyone pregnant or breastfeeding, people with severe or uncontrolled heart conditions, and anyone with a personal or family history of psychosis, schizophrenia or bipolar disorder with psychotic features.
Practical details
Groups take 7 to 12 people. The standard retreat costs from $3,350 and the Medicine Maker retreat from $3,850, with dates listed into 2027. Meals, cabins with hot showers and airport pick-up in Mocoa are included, and the grounds have a pool, a cold plunge by the Mocoa river and Wi-Fi.
