Marshall Huggins, APCC

Marshall Huggins, APCC, is an associate professional clinical counsellor in the San Diego area who offers therapy, coaching and psychedelic preparation and integration. He sees clients in person in San Diego and online, with therapy available throughout California and coaching worldwide.

Approach

Huggins holds an MA in clinical mental health counselling and practises under the supervision of a licensed marriage and family therapist. He reports more than seven years of experience spanning ketamine therapy, plant medicine, nature therapy, mindfulness and mental health treatment, after an earlier career in rainforest conservation that he says taught him about eco-anxiety and grief. He works mainly with Internal Family Systems, in which he has Level 1 training, and existential-humanistic therapy, adding DBT, ACT and Buddhist, Christian or indigenous wisdom when clients want it. Preparation focuses on intention, skills and trust; integration moves from reflection and unpacking to working with the parts that appeared and acting on the insights.

Who it is for

He works with adults and teenagers on anxiety, loneliness, relationships, depression, grief and feeling stuck. His clients have included students and parents, veterans, immigrants and digital nomads, creatives, LGBTQ people and young professionals. Integration support also covers breathwork and vision quests as well as plant medicine.

Practical details

Sessions are cash pay at $70 to $150, with a limited number of sliding-scale places, and a free consultation comes first. He does not provide substances: his psychedelic work is preparation and integration for harm reduction.
