Dr Alicia Bigelow is a naturopathic doctor in Portland, Oregon, whose practice, Naturopothecary, centres on integrative mental health. She facilitates ketamine sessions and licensed psilocybin sessions, offers preparation and integration for both, and gives medical consultations.

Approach

Bigelow has practised as a naturopathic doctor since 2004 and as a herbalist since she was 16. A graduate of NUNM, the National University of Natural Medicine, she completed a two-year family practice residency and spent more than 15 years on its faculty, teaching environmental medicine and IV therapy. Ketamine is given in the office at Synaptic Institute in Portland, in sessions of about two and a half hours booked through that clinic; prices vary, and a free 15-minute consultation helps decide whether ketamine fits. Medical consultations run online through the non-profit Right to Heal, from $88 for 15 minutes. Psilocybin sessions last around eight hours, with prices on request. A Menomorphosis evening costs $199.
