Greg Robillard, LMFT

Greg Robillard, a licensed marriage and family therapist based in Portland, Oregon, offers ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, psilocybin facilitation within Oregon’s legal programme, and psychedelic integration alongside EMDR and talk therapy. His practice, Treewell Healing, is on SE Belmont Street, with telehealth across Oregon and Washington.

Approach

He calls his work experiential, staying with what clients bring into the room, and draws on Buddhist and transpersonal psychology, Internal Family Systems, emotionally focused therapy and EMDR, in which he is certified. In ketamine sessions, held with partner physicians and lasting two and a half hours, he acts as witness and keeps notes. As a facilitator licensed by the Oregon Health Authority, he works at the Chariot and PNW Integrative service centres, with ninety minutes of preparation, a full-day session and optional integration. He trained in marriage, couples and family therapy at Lewis & Clark Graduate School, where he now teaches, and sits on the board of the Synaptic Institute.

Who it is for

He works with trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship issues and addiction, seeing individuals from age 14, couples and families. Psilocybin services are for people aged 21 and over.

Practical details

Sessions of 50 minutes cost $180 to $200. He accepts United/UBH insurance and gives superbills for other plans, but psychedelic therapy is not covered. A ketamine session costs $400, not counting preparation, the prescription or the doctor’s fee, and a psilocybin experience costs $1,600 to $2,000 including room hire and medicine. A free 15-minute screening comes first.

Care and safety

For ketamine, a doctor carries out a brief medical screening, and clients who see another therapist must sign a release so he can speak with them. His integration work focuses on harm reduction, intentions and set and setting. He does not recommend psychedelic use or point people to sources or underground guides.
