Renacer Ayahuasca Retreats
About
Renacer Ayahuasca Retreats runs small ayahuasca retreats in Tumbaco, Quito, Ecuador. Group retreats are timed around the June and December solstices, and private retreats can be booked for other dates.
Approach
The founders are Nadia Hannout, a facilitator and integration coach, and Mercedes Andino, a psychotherapist from a mestizo family of healers and herbalists who learned the ritual use of ayahuasca with Inga communities. Sergio Velasquez, who trained with the Inga and has served ayahuasca for about ten years, has also worked with the team. The centre says a Taita, an Indigenous elder of the Putumayo community it works with, prepares its ayahuasca. A solstice retreat holds two ceremonies with music, aromatherapy and complementary medicines. Around them come flower essences, bioenergetics, plant baths, an altar for the solstice and a walk in a national park.
Who it is for
The team lists anxiety, depression, self-discovery and self-love among its themes. Private retreats are aimed at people who want a ceremony focused entirely on their own intention, alone or with a partner or close friend.
Practical details
Group retreats take two to six people. The June 2025 retreat ran for six days and cost $2,500 to $3,000, with lodging, meals, pickup at Quito airport and local transport included. The site’s most recent dates are 17 to 22 December 2025 and 18 to 22 June 2026. Private retreats usually hold three or four ceremonies, with a private room and organic home cooking, and can add temazcal, huachuma (San Pedro) or kambo.
Care and safety
Each guest has an introductory call, a medical review and a preparation guide before arrival. The centre recommends a cleansing diet for one to two weeks ahead: no alcohol, caffeine, red meat or pork, no refined sugar, spicy or fermented food, and no cannabis or other drugs. An integration circle follows each ceremony.
