About
Ashley Wiscovitch is a mental health counsellor offering ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, psychedelic integration and talk therapy to adults in New York State. She sees clients by telehealth and in person in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
Approach
Her therapy rests on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and cognitive behavioural therapy within a humanistic and existential frame, with the aim of helping clients relate differently to hard thoughts, name their values and act on them. She studied neuroscience at Barnard College, then took master’s degrees in industrial and organisational psychology at the CUNY School of Professional Studies and in mental health and wellness counselling at NYU. Before private practice she worked as a counsellor for NYU’s Center for Counseling and Community Wellbeing. Her further training covers ketamine-assisted therapy and Internal Family Systems with psychedelic therapy. She is a board member of the Association of Contextual Behavioral Science’s New York chapter, and two licensed psychologists supervise her work.
Who it is for
She works with adults on anxiety, depression and ADHD, on trauma and loss, on relationships, and on life transitions such as a move or a diagnosis. She also helps people make sense of psychedelic experiences, but outside ketamine therapy she does not supply psychedelics or guide psychedelic sessions.
Practical details
A free 15-minute phone call comes first. The 60-minute evaluation costs $250, then weekly 45-minute sessions cost $200, with a limited sliding scale. For ketamine work, preparation and integration sessions cost $150 and a three-hour dosing session $450. She is out of network but provides paperwork for insurance claims.
Care and safety
Her ketamine work runs through Journey Clinical, whose medical team checks eligibility, prescribes and monitors outcomes, at its own fees; the first medical consultation costs $250. The ketamine is taken as a lozenge under the tongue, usually at her Brooklyn office, with home sessions possible by arrangement.
