Cristie Strongman, LMHC
About
I am a licensed mental health counselor in private practice in New York City who works with individuals, couples, and groups utilizing a psychodynamic and humanistic approach to focus on the whole individual highlighting concepts such as free will, self-efficacy, and self-actualization. When fitting, I also work with spiritual components found in a person’s journey and invite them to consider deeper parts of themselves in self-exploration. I strive to help people see their life’s ongoing journey as an endless source of wisdom and draw on internal strengths with innovative methods. My specialty lies in helping folks prepare for psychedelic experiences (dosing, medicine choice, set-and-setting), and in the integration of their psychedelic experiences since sometimes sorting through these essentials can prove challenging. Additionally, I take pride in helping people with ADHD, learning disabilities, anxiety, depression, PTSD, relational issues, low self-esteem, and loss of purpose. I help people gain insights into some of these challenges and navigate the world in better ways. I am also an advocate for improving the understanding of neurodiversity in mental health in our society.
