About

Elena Georgouses is a licensed clinical social worker in Vail, Colorado, who offers psychedelic preparation, education and integration alongside integrative psychotherapy. She co-founded Sage Space, a mind-body practice with offices in Vail and Niwot, where sessions can add vibroacoustic therapy and light-based audio-visual stimulation to talk therapy.

Approach

Georgouses has run an integrative psychotherapy practice for more than 30 years. She teaches yoga and mindfulness meditation as a certified instructor and has trained in Holotropic Breathwork. She also completed the certificate programme of the California Institute of Integral Studies in psychedelic therapies and research, and has done the parts of MAPS’s MDMA therapy training that are open before FDA approval. She treats mind and body as one system and draws on Western medicine and biophysics as well as plant medicine and Eastern philosophy, with psycho-spiritual facilitation among her services.

Practical details

She meets clients in person or online, starting with a free consultation to assess their needs before she builds a programme for them. Sage Space sessions can combine psychotherapy with vibroacoustic therapy, flickering light therapy, pulsed electromagnetic field therapy, red and near-infrared light, natural medicine education, meditation and breathwork. Prices are listed from $50 to $2,000. She also organises and oversees group wellness retreats.

Care and safety

The medical advisor at Sage Space is Dr Kelly Buisseret, a board-certified internal medicine physician with more than 15 years of experience, who holds a ketamine-assisted therapy certification from the Psychedelic Research and Training Institute. Georgouses belongs to the American Psychedelic Practitioners Association.
