Pamela Peters, LMFT

Pamela (Pam) Peters, LMFT, is a marriage and family therapist in Denver, Colorado, who works with individuals, couples and families on relationships, psychedelic integration and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP). She sees clients in person at two offices in central Denver and online anywhere in Colorado.

Approach

Peters holds an MA in marriage and family therapy from Regis University and an MA in cultural anthropology from Prescott College, and completed a KAP certificate with Elemental Psychedelics in 2023. She has volunteered as a trip sitter with the Zendo Project and was a founding board member of SPORE. Her work draws on Internal Family Systems and emotionally focused therapy. Her KAP uses sublingual ketamine, not IV: after a few talk sessions to assess fit, a medicine session of 2 to 3 hours includes a 60 to 90 minute experience with her guidance and music, and integration follows within 48 hours.

Who it is for

Her practice welcomes people in polyamorous or consensually non-monogamous relationships, as well as couples, polycules and families with teenage or adult children. KAP is aimed at mild to moderate depression, PTSD and complex trauma; a series of three to six sessions over a few months is typical.

Practical details

A 50-minute individual session costs $175 and a relationship session $200. KAP medicine sessions of 180 minutes cost $525 for one person or $600 for a couple. She does not take insurance but provides superbills, and keeps two lower-cost places through Open Path Collective. A free 15-minute consultation comes first.

Care and safety

A separate medical provider assesses fitness for ketamine and prescribes it, and the client fills the prescription at a compounding pharmacy. Ketamine may not suit people with mania, schizophrenia or high blood pressure, or those taking benzodiazepines. After a session she walks clients to their transport home.
