Shannon Tully

Shannon Tully is a registered clinical counsellor (RCC) who lives on Bowen Island, British Columbia, and works with psychedelic preparation and integration, trauma, anxiety, depression and substance use. Her office is in Gastown, Vancouver, but for now she sees clients online only.

Approach

At a Vancouver clinic for psychedelic psychotherapy she is the lead therapist, providing ketamine-assisted psychotherapy with a medical team, and she co-leads a monthly psychedelic integration group. She took part in a MAPS study of MDMA for PTSD. Her training includes a counselling psychology master’s from City University and a second master’s, in speech-language pathology, a field she worked in for 16 years, partly in public schools. Her methods include Internal Family Systems, Somatic Experiencing and attachment-based work within a feminist, anti-oppressive frame. She also draws on her own use of psychedelics for growth and on lived experience of an eating disorder, depression, ADD and anxiety.

Who it is for

She offers a space for people who are curious about, preparing for or making sense of altered states, and works on relationships, boundaries, self-talk and emotional regulation. Her areas of practice also include stuttering and neurodivergence, such as autism and ADHD.

Practical details

Sessions cost $185 an hour and run over Zoom or Skype. A free 20-minute phone call comes first, cancellations need 24 hours’ notice, and payment is by e-transfer, cash or cheque. Clients can claim the invoice on insurance plans that cover registered clinical counsellors, and she is a registered provider for the Crime Victims Assistance Program.
