Experience Onward

Experience Onward is a psilocybin wellness company founded by former NHL player Daniel Carcillo. It has presented itself as a state-licensed psilocybin service centre in Portland, Oregon, working under the system that Measure 109 created. Its website now centres on Colorado, where it says regulated services are still to come.

Approach

Carcillo, a two-time Stanley Cup champion, retired at 30 after seven diagnosed concussions and turned to psilocybin in 2019. The company stresses that his story is personal and not evidence that psilocybin treats any condition. In Portland it described itself as physician-led, with licensed facilitators and integration coaches offering private full-dose sessions, group ceremonies, microdosing programmes and integration coaching, plus retreats of three or five days near Portland with private rooms and chef-prepared meals.

Who it is for

Its services are aimed at adults, among them athletes, veterans, first responders and executives, as well as people recovering from concussion or mental health difficulties. Retreat options have included women-only groups and programmes for veterans and professional athletes.

Practical details

Prices started at $2,500, and some services could be reimbursed by insurance through Enthea. In Colorado a three-day retreat is marked as coming soon, with a waitlist, and the company is developing Onward Ranch as a place for wellness and education. Oregon’s law allows supervised psilocybin use by adults aged 21 and over at licensed service centres.

Every service starts with a free discovery call, followed by a health intake and screening with a licensed facilitator before a session or retreat is booked. Preparation and integration support are part of each programme.
