Iluminar Healing

Iluminar Healing offers private, one-to-one psilocybin ceremonies in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Sisters Marleigh and Morgan Brown founded it in 2022 and are its two facilitators.

Approach

The sisters come from Arizona and, after moving to Mexico, spent years apprenticing with a local medicine man, assisting at ceremonies with ayahuasca, bufo, kambo, tobacco and psilocybin. Both studied at the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts. Marleigh trained in hypnotherapy and guided imagery and focuses on preparation, inner child work and integration; Morgan holds certificates in spiritual coaching and yoga nidra. A ceremony opens with breathwork and meditation, followed by a medium to high dose of 3 to 5 grams, taken with eye shades, headphones and a chosen playlist.

Who it is for

Iluminar aims its sessions at people seeking emotional healing or spiritual clarity who want a facilitator’s full attention instead of a group. Each application is reviewed before a place is offered.

Practical details

Ceremonies take place at the guest’s accommodation or at one of two settings Iluminar offers: a jungle eco retreat beside a river, from $900, or an oceanfront space, from $1,200. Iluminar calls these suggested donations, covering supplies, transport and support rather than the mushrooms, and says lower prices can be discussed. A 24-hour version adds an overnight stay with integration and breakfast the next morning. A non-refundable deposit holds the date, with the balance due three weeks before.

Care and safety

The application covers background, medical history, medication, earlier psychedelic or plant medicine use and intentions, and is followed by an introductory call and a preparation call. Facilitators arrive around 10am and stay throughout. Guests are advised to rest at their accommodation for the evening, and an integration call follows. The mushrooms come from growers in Mexico, and Iluminar says each batch is tested for safety and potency.
