MindScape Retreat
About
MindScape Retreat is an ibogaine clinic on the island of Cozumel, off Mexico’s Caribbean coast, where guests stay on site for treatment under a physician’s supervision. Alongside ibogaine it runs shorter psilocybin and 5-MeO-DMT programmes.
Approach
Each programme is fitted to the guest’s situation, starting with a free and confidential pre-screen and ending in integration work at home. Ibogaine is given in a medical setting with individual dosing and continuous cardiac monitoring. Between sessions guests rest in private rooms, take part in yoga and meditation, and spend time outdoors on the island, with snorkelling and trips to the beach. The clinic also offers NAD+ infusions.
Who it is for
Most programmes are aimed at people dependent on opioids, including fentanyl, methadone and Suboxone, and on alcohol, benzodiazepines, kratom or stimulants. There are also programmes for depression, anxiety, PTSD and traumatic brain injury, and one for Parkinson’s disease. The physicians decide who is eligible, based on a guest’s full history, blood work and EKG.
Practical details
Ibogaine programmes start at five days for $7,500, all-inclusive. Longer stays of 10 to 14 days, for more complex cases, cost up to $15,500. A three-night psilocybin programme and a three-day 5-MeO-DMT retreat each cost $3,500. Groups are small, with up to eight guests.
Care and safety
Before admission every guest has a cardiac evaluation, including an EKG, along with blood work and a liver panel. A physician and a trained nurse are present throughout every session, and a physician is on site around the clock under the clinical director, Dr. Arellano. After the stay, guests continue with integration therapy, aftercare and a 90-day integration programme run through a phone app.
