About
Hi, I’m Janice. I’m delighted you’re here and exploring options to support your psychedelic experience! Being well prepared before your journey and having support to integrate it afterwards is truly where the magic happens. I can’t imagine signing up for a retreat without it! I’ve been intentionally working with plant medicines and supporting others as a Psychedelic Integration Coach since earning my certification in 2020. My path on this journey of being of service to others through ‘alternative’ healing began in the late ’90s when I chose a career as an Herbalist, after searching for a profession that aligned with my core beliefs. At the time, I was homeschooling my kids and raising them on my own, so finding a path that worked for us was essential. Through my herbal training, I was introduced to Traditional Indigenous Practices, Ayurveda, and Shamanism. I also delved into non-ordinary states of consciousness through drum journeying, dreamwork, plant and animal spirit attunement, and the sacred passages of death and dying. A few years into my herbal practice, I joined the team at my local health food store to expand my knowledge of nutritional supplements, and work alongside others who shared my commitment to holistic health. For over 20 years, I have served my community through private practice and as a supplement manager. It makes sense to me now, knowing what I know about psychedelics that my path was leading me to this work but, I resisted it at first. I experimented with psychedelics as a teen but didn’t know anything about the therapeutic uses until I came across Dr. Gabor Maté’s work and read ‘How To Change Your Mind’ by Michael Pollan. I come from a family with deep roots in addiction, where I learned to master “codependency” and become an expert “enabler”. Dr. Maté’s perspective on addiction and his compassionate approach really resonated with me but, when I learned that he was offering Ayahuasca retreats, it triggered a conflict in my mind. The ‘Don’t Do Drugs’ campaigns of the ‘80s had programmed me well. After a friend gave me a copy of Michael Pollan’s book my passion for learning was sparked and led me to a program that integrated addiction recovery with the healing properties of psychedelics. Six months later, I was on a healing path like no other! My own journey of growth and transformation with psychedelics parallels my coaching practice. I am deeply grateful for the healing and wisdom these plant medicines continue to offer and feel honored to be of service to those on their own path of transformation.
