Jenna Wolfson, LCSW

Jenna Wolfson is a licensed clinical social worker in Felton, California, and the owner of River Rock Wellness, a practice she shares with other therapists. She works with children, teenagers, adults and families, and is certified to provide psychedelic-assisted therapy, including ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, which she offers only in person.

Approach

Wolfson earned a bachelor’s in social and behavioural science at Cal State Monterey Bay in 2004 and a master’s in social work, with a school social work credential, at San Jose State in 2006. For about 12 years she worked as a drug and alcohol assessor, school social worker, foster family social worker, child welfare therapist and Wraparound social worker in Fresno and San Luis Obispo counties, and she gained her clinical licence in 2014. Within a client-centred approach she uses trauma-focused CBT, EMDR, motivational interviewing, mindfulness-based stress reduction and Internal Family Systems.

Who it is for

She has worked with young people and their parents for more than two decades, and sees clients for anxiety, depression, grief, adjustment, trauma and PTSD. She is an ADHD Certified Clinical Services Provider for adults, takes a harm reduction approach to substance use and also works with clients in active recovery.

Practical details

River Rock Wellness is at 6630 Highway 9, Suite 204, in Felton, and serves Monterey, Santa Cruz, Santa Clara and San Mateo counties, with telehealth across California. Wolfson sees clients in person and online, but psychedelic sessions are in person, and a medicated session lasts at least two hours. Fees follow an hourly cash rate with a sliding scale.

Care and safety

Before psychedelic work she requires documentation, including an assessment by a licensed medical provider plus psychological testing. The first sessions cover questions about the medicine, informed consent and goals, and integration sessions follow soon after each experience.
