About

Paul Jozsef is a Canadian Certified Counsellor in Westmount, Montreal, whose practice, Paul Jozsef Counselling & Coaching, offers psychedelic integration counselling alongside therapy for anxiety, depression and anger. He sees adults, older teens and couples in person near Atwater metro and online across Canada.

Approach

Born in Australia, Jozsef studied philosophy at the University of Sydney and counselling and psychotherapy at the Jansen Newman Institute (MA). He has practised since 2016 and belongs to the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association as a professional member. He calls his approach collaborative and structured and his style direct, looks at early experiences, unconscious dynamics and relational habits, and draws on more than 25 years of his own mindfulness and meditation practice. Integration sessions start with what happened and what came up, then turn that material into a practical plan for daily life, in what he presents as a grounded therapeutic space rather than a spiritual or ceremonial one.

Who it is for

He works with people who have had or are considering experiences with psilocybin, ayahuasca, LSD, MDMA or ketamine, including those left confused, anxious or depersonalised, or holding insights they find hard to act on. His wider practice covers anxiety, depression, anger management, men’s mental health, life transitions and relationships, for clients aged 16 and over.

Practical details

Sessions last 50 minutes, on weekdays from 8am to 8pm and on Saturday from 10am to 4pm, at 4060 Sainte-Catherine St. West or by secure video. Fees are listed at $150 to $275, and receipts can go to insurers that cover Canadian Certified Counsellors. No referral is needed, cancellations need 48 hours’ notice, and a free 10-minute phone consultation comes first.

Care and safety

He does not provide psychoactive substances or recommend their use, and offers preparation and follow-up support to people who choose to explore altered states.
