Olivia Clear, LPCC

Olivia Clear (she/they) is a licensed professional clinical counsellor in Oakland, California, offering ketamine-assisted psychotherapy and integration online to adults across the state. Clients take the medicine at home while she stays with them by secure video.

Approach

Since 2020 Clear has sat with people in expanded states, and she says her own chronic illness shapes the work. She holds an MS in clinical counselling and art therapy from Florida State University, and has trained with Polaris Insight Center and MAPS, in EMDR and in a 500-hour psychedelic integration programme. Each ketamine course moves from preparation by video to a session of three or four hours, then integration through talk, art-making or somatic practice. She also offers sex therapy.

Who it is for

She aims at self-aware adults who have done years of personal work yet still feel stuck or cut off from their body, especially neurodivergent, sensitive and creative people living with anxiety, depression, ADHD, chronic illness or burnout. Clients must be 18 or over and in California during sessions. It does not suit people in crisis, those hospitalised for psychiatric reasons in the past six months, anyone actively suicidal, or people who need detox.

Practical details

An intake with Clear costs $300, and one with the recommended prescriber $450. Integration sessions of 50 minutes cost $275; ketamine sessions cost $950 for three hours or $1,250 for four. She is out of network and provides superbills. A free 20-minute consultation comes first.

Care and safety

Before any prescription, a medical evaluation with a prescriber decides eligibility and dose, and early sessions may be held under direct medical observation. A support person must be nearby, though not in the room, and the medicine has to be stored securely. The prescriber receives a log of what is taken in every session.
