Sophia Gebbia-Richards, MSW

Sophia Gebbia-Richards, who now practises as Sophia Green, is a licensed master social worker and certified psychedelic guide in Aspen, Colorado. She works with Internal Family Systems, offers psychedelic preparation and integration by telehealth, and guides psychedelic sessions in person in Aspen.

Her Master of Social Work is from Fordham University (summa cum laude), and her training covers Internal Family Systems (IFS Institute Level 1, and Bob Falconer’s work on unattached burdens), ketamine-assisted psychotherapy with Fluence, trauma-focused cognitive behavioural therapy, and addiction recovery and psychedelic integration with BTTY. Who it is for

She works with people facing anxiety, depression and trauma, and with those who want to end patterns of self-betrayal and rebuild self-trust. She is cautious about taking on psychedelic clients and does not work with people showing signs of schizophrenia, dissociative identity disorder or bipolar disorder, or with conditions that could make the work harmful.

Practical details

Telehealth sessions last 50 minutes, online or by phone, and fees range from $150 to $250, with a sliding scale when needed. Psychedelic guidance requires at least three preparation and three integration sessions. A session day lasts four to six hours, with her present throughout, and ends with a meal. Work begins with a call to see whether the fit is right.

Care and safety

In preparation she uses IFS to explore intentions and to build safety, both inner and in the client’s surroundings. On the day she tailors dose, fasting and timing to the client and agrees on eye masks and music, and she can take notes during the session to share afterwards.
