Steven Twohig Sr.

Steven Twohig Sr. is a shadow work coach and guide in Orlando, Florida, and the creator of Mastering Change, now presented as Turning Within, a programme of what he calls shadow-informed depth work. He combines shadow work with strategic intervention and psychedelic integration, mostly online.

Approach

Twohig says he has practised shadow work for more than 20 years and has over ten years of business consulting and coaching behind him. He wrote Turning Within: Reclaiming Your Soul from Shadow, which sets out his method. His training includes NLP practitioner certification, business strategy at Cornell University, Strategic Intervention with Robbins-Madanes and psychedelic integration coaching. Work starts with a short Zoom session, after which he maps out services to fit the medicines a client is working with and where they are in the process. Options include a shadow work app, the self-paced Mental Cleanse programme, one-to-one coaching and Shadow Ceremony, an in-person weekend in Orlando that he describes as comparable to a psychedelic experience but without substances. A six-week integration training follows the weekend.

Who it is for

Shadow Ceremony is open to all, with no prior training needed. His clients have ranged from people seeking peak performance and entrepreneurs to people leaving homelessness and those exploring plant medicine.

Practical details

Coaching is priced at $1,000 to $5,000 a month, with discounts for veterans, nurses, healthcare workers and first responders. The Evolving Mind Project, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit linked to the work, runs weekly online groups, including an open shadow integration group on Monday evenings.
