Trini Vergara, RCC

Trini Vergara, RCC, is a Vancouver counsellor, registered as a clinical counsellor in British Columbia, who offers individual, couples and sex therapy along with preparation and integration for psychedelic experiences. She works in English and Spanish, in person and online.

Approach

Born in Chile, Vergara took a bachelor’s in psychology and a master’s in clinical psychology at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. For her master’s she wrote a guide for therapists on taking a gender-based perspective with adult clients. She calls herself an integrative therapist who mixes methods to suit each person, within a feminist, anti-oppression framework that pays attention to power, privilege and oppression. Her integration sessions help clients find meaning in a psychedelic experience and carry what they learned into everyday life. In relationship and sex therapy she draws on attachment work and the Gottman method, with a focus on conflict, intimacy, communication and the agreements partners make.
