Valerio Scaramucci, LCP

Valerio Scaramucci is a counsellor and certified Internal Family Systems and Somatic Experiencing practitioner who helps people integrate psychedelic and plant medicine experiences, especially ayahuasca. He works online from Argentina, in English, Italian or Spanish, and also supports expats and people in major life transitions.

Approach

Born and raised in Italy, Scaramucci came to this work through yoga and Vipassana meditation, and first sat with ayahuasca in 2013 in the Santo Daime tradition. His years with The Temple of the Way of Light near Iquitos, Peru, began with teaching yoga there, and he now works part-time at Soltara in Costa Rica; most of his plant medicine experience is within the Shipibo tradition. His counsellor training was at ToMind Counseling School in Vicenza, completed in 2020, and he belongs to AiCo, the Italian counsellors’ association. He qualified in Somatic Experiencing in 2022 and is certified by the IFS Institute, where he also assists on trainings. In integration he works with what a ceremony brought up, including unprocessed trauma and parts of the personality a person would rather avoid.

Who it is for

He works with people after a ceremony who are unsure how to act on an insight, or who found that more opened than they expected. He says his work is not a diagnosis, medical or psychiatric treatment, crisis support or a substitute for psychiatric care.

Practical details

A 60-minute session costs €75 or $90, and a package of five costs €340 or $400. The first session is half price, or clients can start with a free 20-minute call. He usually suggests weekly sessions at first, and clients can stop at any time.
