WITHIN

WITHIN (Within Center) offers ceremonial ketamine therapy on AWKN Ranch, a twelve-acre property on the western edge of Austin, Texas. It runs a residential retreat, a 30-day immersion and day packages of one to six ketamine ceremonies.

Approach

Every session is treated as a ceremony. It opens with grounding and an intention, then licensed medical staff give the ketamine by intramuscular injection while the guest rests with eyes closed and music playing, guides present throughout. A session usually lasts two to three hours, followed by rest and an integration conversation. The centre prefers injection for its predictable dosing. Founded by William Naylor, it has a physician assistant, Katie Murray, as lead clinician, and its guides also work as coaches. No psychedelic other than ketamine is offered.

Who it is for

The centre serves people facing depression, anxiety, PTSD, grief, burnout or a major life change, especially when therapy or medication alone has not been enough, and with people pursuing personal growth. No referral or diagnosis is needed.

Practical details

The four-night residential retreat has two ceremonies and two integration coaching sessions, at $4,450 in a shared room or $4,950 in a private one. The 30-day immersion costs $24,449 shared or $26,999 in a private suite. Day packages run from $1,400 for one ceremony to $5,500 for six, each ceremony with its own integration session and IV drip. Most insurers do not cover it, but superbills are available.

Care and safety

Each applicant is screened, and the centre turns away anyone with an active substance use disorder, active psychosis, certain heart conditions or bipolar disorder that is not under control. The residential retreat includes a clinical intake and medical clearance. Preparation includes a talk before each session and advice on food and habits beforehand. A free 15-minute call comes first.
