Candyce D. Tart, PhD
About
I am Candyce D. Tart, PhD (she/her), a licensed clinical psychologist and the owner of Cedar Psychology Services. With years of experience working within the VA Healthcare System, I’ve had the privilege of serving U.S. Military Veterans, gaining invaluable insight into the treatment of diverse mental and behavioral health challenges. I am deeply committed to providing compassionate care, adapting my approach to each client’s unique needs. In 2024, I founded Cedar Psychology Services to meet the growing demand for accessible, high-quality mental health care in New Mexico and Colorado, offering telehealth services and face-to-face services (in New Mexico). I utilize evidence-based practices while remaining attuned to the cultural and personal context of each individual, creating an environment where clients feel seen, heard, and supported. I offer a blend of therapeutic approaches that includes ACT, CBT, mindfulness-based approaches, and parts work, with an emphasis on scientific rigor and cultural sensitivity, tailoring each session to help clients make meaningful progress. Most clients achieve their therapeutic goals in 8-12 sessions. I believe in the power of collaboration, and I work closely with clients to develop personalized treatment plans that align with their values and aspirations. In addition to my general therapeutic practice, I am certified in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy by the Integrative Psychiatry Institute. This training includes expertise in the use of psilocybin, ketamine, and MDMA for therapeutic purposes. I offer preparation and integration therapy for individuals undergoing psychedelic treatments, supporting them through these transformative experiences with care, empathy, and evidence-based guidance. I am warm, grounded, and committed to helping you navigate life’s challenges with a holistic, supportive approach.
