Dr Cat Meyer, PsyD LMFT

Dr Cat Meyer is a licensed marriage and family therapist with a doctorate in psychology who practises in Los Angeles as a sex and couples therapist. She uses ketamine-assisted psychotherapy for problems around sex, intimacy and trauma, and runs SexLoveYoga, an online platform of courses drawing on psychology, psychedelic therapy, yoga, tantra and science.

Approach

Meyer describes a broad lens that takes in tantra, BDSM, sex and trauma psychology, psychedelics and yoga, and she is a registered yoga teacher at the 200-hour level. In her ketamine work she pairs the medicine with talk and somatic psychotherapy, and she trains other clinicians in this approach. She also offers kambo, sourced through Kambo International. Practical details

Ketamine-assisted therapy comes in packages of two, four or six dosing sessions. Each package adds three one-hour therapy sessions beforehand, and every two-hour ketamine session is followed the next day by a one-hour integration session. A separate medical evaluation with a prescribing doctor costs about $450. Sessions are listed at $300, in person in Los Angeles or online.

Care and safety
