About

Dreamglade is a small ayahuasca and master plant dieta retreat on 25 hectares of lakeside rainforest near Moralillo, less than an hour by road from Iquitos, Peru. Stacy Povey founded it in 2013; Wade Bucher and Clarisa Gutierrez have owned and run it since 2023, and a Shipibo couple, Maestra Dominga and Maestro Raúl, lead the ceremonies.

Approach

The couple come from Vista Alegre, upriver from Pucallpa, and grew up in families that passed down plant medicine and ceremonial song. Ceremonies run for five to six hours in the maloka on Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights. Off-days are unscheduled, with sauna, plant baths, gentle yoga and breathwork, forest walks, swimming, and rooms for art and music. Each guest’s master plant is chosen with Maestro Raúl on arrival, and the group meets in sharing circles.

Who it is for

The centre says it suits people who want a quiet setting, are willing to prepare properly and are open to traditional Shipibo ceremony rather than a Western programme. Guests join on a Monday or a Friday and stay from five nights, with three ceremonies, to two weeks, with six.

Practical details

The daily rate is $200 per person in a communal tambo for up to six, $210 in a two-person tambo and $220 in a private one, the last two with a dry compost toilet. It covers meals, ceremonies, the dieta, breathwork, sauna, integration support and group transport from Iquitos, while kambo costs extra. The tambos have no power or internet, and no more than ten guests stay at once.

Care and safety

Paul, the integration specialist, reads every inquiry himself, goes through medications and health conditions for contraindications, and explains the diet to follow before arrival. A deposit is taken only after that review, and guests sign an agreement before their dates are confirmed. Integration support continues afterwards.
