Breathwork

Breathwork facilitators, circles and trainings, from the gentle to the deep.

Breathwork reaches altered states with nothing but breathing, which is why it sits on this site next to everything else. The listings range from weekly circles to facilitator trainings, and say which method they work in.

Questions people ask

Is breathwork safe?

For most people, yes, with a trained facilitator. Some conditions, including pregnancy, epilepsy, heart conditions and high blood pressure, need a doctor's advice first, and a facilitator should ask about them before a session.

What is the difference between the methods?

Some are gentle and meditative, some are fast and intense and can reach altered states. The listings say which method they work in; start gentle if you are new.

Can breathwork replace other practices?

It stands on its own for many people and sits next to meditation, therapy or ceremony for others. It needs nothing but breathing, which is why it is one of the more accessible doors on this site.
