Francesca Sciandra

Francesca Sciandra offers psychedelic integration, mentorship and consultation online, and runs individual therapy, couples therapy and hypnotherapy through a separate therapy practice. She describes herself as an artist, guide and educator, and often works with people processing difficult psychedelic experiences.

Approach

She works integratively, combining harm reduction with psychodynamic and person-centred therapy and, for couples, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, and uses hypnotherapy to reach the symbolic material an experience can leave behind. Integration can cover preparation, a single experience or a series, and couples whose relationship shifted after one. She trained at the National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy, where she gained a postgraduate diploma in hypno-psychotherapeutic counselling. She is registered with the General Hypnotherapy Register as a hypnotherapist and supervisor and is training as a psychotherapist with UKCP. Her psychedelic training includes harm reduction and integration with Fluence, crisis de-escalation with PsyCare UK and a course with Anne Wagner on MDMA therapy for couples. She also founded the Psychedelic Arts Society.

Who it is for

The integration work suits people still unsettled by a hard experience weeks or years later, those who sense a meaning they cannot yet reach, those whose insights have not turned into change, and people preparing for an upcoming experience. It is no substitute for ongoing therapy or for care of an untreated mental health problem, and she does not guide or supervise psychedelic sessions.
