Gabriel Ettenson, MSPT

Gabriel Ettenson, a physical therapist by training, offers psychedelic preparation, harm reduction and integration through Sage Space, the mind-body practice he co-founded in Boulder, Colorado, which has an office in nearby Niwot. Sessions combine coaching with tools such as vibroacoustic and flickering light therapy, in person or online.

Approach

In New York City he used to run a large practice of integrative physical therapy. He has also taught meditation, co-developed vibration-based fitness products and co-founded the hemp-cannabinoid company Elixinol Wellness, and reports more than 25 years in mind-body medicine. The California Institute of Integral Studies certified him in psychedelic-assisted therapies and research, and he also holds a certificate in endocannabinoid science, has completed the pre-approval steps of the MAPS training in MDMA therapy, and has trained in pain reprocessing therapy. He describes his approach as a mix of Western medicine, Eastern philosophy, plant medicine and biophysics.

His psychedelic work is for people preparing for an experience or making sense of one afterwards. Natural medicine education is aimed at people curious about the therapeutic use of plants who do not know where to begin, and pain reprocessing coaching at people living with chronic pain.

Practical details

Prices run from $45 for a single session to $2,000 for a full coaching programme. Work starts with a complimentary consultation, in person or online, after which he builds a programme around the client. Sage Space also has an office in Vail, where co-founder Elena Georgouses, a licensed clinical social worker, offers psychotherapy.

Care and safety

The practice’s medical advisor is Dr Kelly Buisseret, a board-certified internal medicine physician who trained in ketamine-assisted therapy with PRATI. He holds a physical therapy licence (PTL-0012163) and belongs to the Psychedelic Medicine Association and the American Psychedelic Practitioners Association.
