Jeya Aerenson, OMD

Jeya Aerenson, OMD, is a doctor of Oriental medicine and life coach in Eugene, Oregon, who offers microdosing coaching, preparation and integration around psilocybin sessions, and mind-body skills groups. Her practice is called Global Mind Body, and she works online, in person in Oregon, and in Oaxaca, Mexico, during the winter.

Approach

Aerenson has had a private practice since 1993 and holds a master’s in Chinese medicine and an Oriental medical doctorate. She trained as a psilocybin facilitator with Subtle Winds, where she is now core faculty, and supervises certification candidates for the Center for Mind-Body Medicine. Her own method, Somatic Synthesis, builds on decades of acupuncture and adds life coaching, compassionate listening, energy work and somatic therapies. Microdosing guidance is an optional part of coaching and, she stresses, educational only: she provides no substances. Before a larger psilocybin experience she offers two to four preparation sessions to refine intentions, and the same number for integration afterwards.

Who it is for

She works with people managing stress, anxiety, depression, trauma and life transitions. Her mind-body skills groups, which meet weekly for six to eight sessions, are open to people of all ages and backgrounds. She has also led trauma relief work after disasters, including mobile acupuncture clinics after the 2017 earthquake in Oaxaca.

Sessions cost $125 to $250, with a discount on packages of five. Half-day or full-day workshops are available in English or Spanish.
