Rob Douglas is a psychedelic integration coach and ceremony facilitator in Richmond, Virginia, who runs a practice called Kind Moon. He helps people prepare for and integrate sacred medicine ceremonies and retreats, and also offers personal coaching, mindfulness mentoring and ceremonies such as tea sessions and weddings, in person or remotely.
Approach
He is certified as a transformational and psychedelic integration coach by Being True To You, and holds further certificates in trauma-informed coaching from The Centre for Healing, IFS-informed work from Moxie School and ethical psychedelic care from the Synthesis Institute. He also completed the mindfulness mentor training of Banyan. His coaching uses parts work, somatic exploration, inquiry and mindfulness, built on what he names three pillars: safety, trust and rest. Before Kind Moon he spent more than fifteen years facilitating individuals and groups, lived in intentional spiritual communities, studied religious identity and narrative, and worked as a storyteller and filmmaker.
Who it is for
The integration work is for people heading into or coming out of expansive experiences, usually sacred medicine ceremonies but also spiritual or wellness retreats. Personal coaching is open to anyone, with or without a link to psychedelics. Kind Moon says its sessions are not formal therapy and not meant for severe or threatening concerns, and it can point people to qualified therapists.
Practical details
Sessions cost $125 for an hour. The short preparation and integration package usually runs to two sessions before a ceremony and three after, or five integration sessions for someone who arrives afterwards, and can include help finding a facilitator or retreat. Work begins with a free discovery call and a short intake survey.
Care and safety
Preparation covers intentions, choices about the medicine, resources for the ceremony such as breathwork and journaling, and wider wellness and safety. He works within set agreements on confidentiality, communication and participation.
