Sahaja Retreats
About
Sahaja Retreats has held Bufo alvarius and kambo retreats at a beachfront compound on the Tulum to Boca Paila road, in the Sian Ka’an area of Quintana Roo, Mexico. Its founders, Chelsea Mae and Natalie, first met in 2019, during an ayahuasca retreat. Chelsea’s own website, Immortal Freedom, currently shows nothing to book.
Approach
The two women say they were initiated as medicine carriers in an indigenous tradition and have worked with many healing methods and plant medicines in Peru and Mexico. Each retreat day began with a group Bufo microdose and Kundalini breathwork, with kambo ceremonies around midday and individual Bufo ceremonies in the late afternoon, then a group dinner and integration circle. One morning’s breathwork included a psilocybin microdose. Individual integration sessions were available for personal topics, and Natalie, trained in Tibetan sound healing by Suren Shrestha, offered sound sessions for an extra fee.
Who it is for
The organisers say the retreats suit newcomers to these medicines as well as experienced practitioners, and describe the work as releasing stored trauma, fear and old patterns.
Practical details
The programme ran from a Thursday afternoon arrival, with an airport shuttle, to a Monday checkout with a shuttle to Cancun airport. Groups were capped at ten and the price was listed at $2,600. The compound lies in an ecological preserve with a lagoon, a pool and a mile of private beach, and a private chef prepared the meals.
Care and safety
Joining started with an intake form and a discovery chat with Chelsea or Natalie before registration. The organisers say they source their medicines directly from indigenous partners in Peru and Mexico and practise reciprocity with local communities.
