Soul Rejuvenation

Soul Rejuvenation is a private psilocybin retreat in Nuevo Arenal, Costa Rica, offered by Embracing Your Light. Each stay of four nights is planned around one guest or one couple, on dates that suit them.

Approach

Rev. Jacqui Ruiz leads the ceremonies, helped by trained staff. She is an ordained minister, a certified retreat facilitator and integration specialist, and a leadership coach, with more than 15 years of guiding people through hard periods; before this work she was a mortician. The individual retreat holds two psilocybin ceremonies and two tea ceremonies for setting intentions, plus integration coaching every day and body movement sessions. The couples version includes two private ceremonies and both joint and individual coaching.

Who it is for

Ruiz says the work is meant for people committed to change, and she asks those only curious about psilocybin to look elsewhere first. Across her programmes she names depression, anxiety, PTSD, addiction, OCD and trauma, as well as grief and the approach of death.

Practical details

The individual retreat costs $5,500 per person, all-inclusive, and the couples retreat $8,500 per couple. Cancellation is fully refunded up to 60 days before the start. Guests stay in private lodging with lake access, and three vegan or vegetarian meals a day are cooked from local organic produce. Flights are not included, and airport transfers cost extra. Spa treatments and local trips can be added. The Journey Home, from $5,500 with a retreat included, adds 60 days of guided microdosing and 12 online coaching sessions.

Care and safety

Every booking starts with a 20-minute discovery call and a Zoom interview, and guests fill in a health questionnaire. Ruiz reviews each application personally. The team has included a registered nurse, Emily Holsheimer, and the psilocybin comes from local growers the retreat says it knows and trusts.
