About

Sayulita Wellness Retreat runs all-inclusive psilocybin retreats in a gated oceanfront villa in San Pancho (San Francisco, Nayarit), near Sayulita on Mexico’s Pacific coast. It also runs couples, ibogaine and one-day group programmes.

Approach

Doses are set at an arrival consultation, by body weight, tolerance and intention. Macro doses usually weigh 3.5 grams of dried mushrooms, with a 1.5 gram booster on request. The four-day retreat holds one private macro-dose session, two micro-doses and a DMT session; the seven-day version doubles the macro and DMT sessions. Hypnotherapy, yoga, sound healing and massage fill the other days. Founder Andrew’s team includes doctors, nurses, psychotherapists and facilitators, two of them from Indigenous communities.

Who it is for

It addresses stress, a search for clarity or purpose, trauma, PTSD, anxiety and depression, and the wish to stop alcohol, nicotine, sleeping pills or antidepressants. It says it does not replace emergency or standard medical care.

Practical details

Prices per person are $4,997 for four days and $7,997 for seven, or $5,997 and $8,997 for couples; ibogaine retreats cost $7,997 for five days and $11,997 for seven. Rooms are private and air-conditioned, and the villa has a private beach, rooftop pool, spa and gym. Chef-prepared meals and airport transfers are included. The website states that no payment is taken for the plant medicine.

Care and safety

A pre-qualification interview covers physical and mental health and intentions before booking. Licensed doctors do the medical evaluation and stay on site, with nurse supervision; ibogaine guests also have EKGs on site. Aftercare brings one-to-one calls with a psychotherapist and an invitation to the alumni community. The retreat cites Article 195 bis of Mexico’s Federal Penal Code, which it says rules out prosecution when psilocybin mushrooms serve traditional spiritual ceremonies.
